Preserving the Permanent Collection
In addition to acquiring works of art, researching, and sharing the collection, the Martin Museum is dedicated to the care and preservation of these works, in accordance with standards and best practices, as outlined by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM). While not on view, all the works of art are stored in our climate-controlled, secured storage vault. Our staff is extremely knowledgeable and has decades of experience with handling and caring for works of art. While we do not offer conservation services, nor have a conservator on staff, we are more than happy to address questions and provide resources in assistance, for those who are interested in learning more about the care and preservation of works of art.
