Artist Statement
An exploration of life, death, anger, abuse,
The beast named grief,
Loss of hope, finding it again,
Radical forgiveness,
The bloodshed it takes to give and receive it,
Disenchantment with the self,
Disenchantment with the world,
The desperation of searching for purpose
In a divine one,
And,
Above all,
Unconditional love.
You may recognize this place.
If you haven’t been yet,
You will get there eventually.
There is no way out.
Well,
There is one,
But it is not my place
To spoil the ending.
What’s the fun in that?
This place is for everyone -
No one will be spared.
But,
The same is true
Of what’s waiting for you
When you find what you didn’t even know
You have always been looking for.
Don’t you want to be there to see what it is?
May your journey be well-lighted
By the stars,
They will disappear and reappear and change course,
Constantly.
You will not understand why.
You will be angry with them (you can tell them this),
They will still be there regardless.
Do not be afraid, for there is nothing to be afraid of.
And never let anything
Anybody says
Stop you going
Home.
Famous last words.
