Project Statement | Coco Cosmetics
Coco Cosmetics is a plant-based natural skincare company that takes natural ingredients and turns them into facial serums for everyday use by partnering with their research team to find the perfect mix for every woman. Their brand is aimed at bringing cruelty-free and biodegradable products and packaging flown all over the world to hit a wide clientele market. Their company is defined by the revolutionary technology of mixing beauty with science. Beginning their efforts in Montreal, Canada, Coco Cosmetics established a research team to find out the best ingredients to use for cleansing the face, to maintain beauty and youth in all their clients. Their first products were the three basic facial treatments – a toner, a facial mask, and a cleanser. For the logo, they wanted to incorporate the coconut, as all of their products use ingredients from the coconut tree. Their whole look is about natural, clean, and youth, so their typeface should represent elements of nature. The company settled on Arcana GMM Std Manuscript as the main font of their logo, with Helvetica Neue as the tag line, describing which product it is. To maintain cohesiveness, They used Helvetica Neue for the rest of the type in their brand. The colors are also natural – forest green and chocolate brown. To keep the natural look, we wanted each item to look like it was pulled from plants, so we illustrated coconuts onto each label.
Pulling in all these elements gives the look of a natural company who prioritizes cleanliness and the environment over cakey over-produced and wasteful products that make up the majority of the facial treatment industry. Their packaging production also aims at cleanliness by being an online only storefront and shipping worldwide with recyclable packaging. They aim at bringing a new light onto cosmetics and hope to broaden their horizon with new top-of-the-line products for everyday use.
